I wanted to share what our church is doing this month in preparation for an upcoming outreach event on March 28th in our community. We have sort of adopted a local park for the sole purpose of encouraging and loving people. The first few events we did we simply gave stuff away. Hundreds of coats & shoes, diapers & wipes. You didn't have do anything to receive the stuff ... Read More »

The other side of the window
Her name had been given to me as somebody who could use encouragement. Someone who hadn't seen family in long time. No visitors in a while. I walked in the nursing home room and asked for "Ms. Linda". And there she was. Without turning around she peered out her window and quietly said, "That's me." She was sitting in a wheelchair with one foot propped up on the heating unit. ... Read More »
My “word” could be dangerous if I’m not careful
Ya know, I really thought my "word for the year" was going to have to be "Daggum" for a while because I could not come up with just one word. I'm noticing I'm not the only one who is having a hard time narrowing it down to just one word and I find a little comfort in that. But after sitting down and praying and looking over the last few sermons that our amazingly smokin' hot ... Read More »
Community Outreach instead of Cyclical Church Events
For the first time ever our church took Trunk R Treat to a slightly sketchy neighborhood park. We had no idea what to expect but we prayed and planned and asked God to provide us with what He knew we needed for the night. Taking Jesus to the park
As a church we are learning what it means to live out our faith beyond the pews and stain glass. And so our outreach ministry team coordinated an opportunity for our church to flesh out our faith at a local park in town. For weeks on end we met and prayed for God to give us generous hearts and provision for babies and toddlers in our town. What would people need that WIC or ... Read More »

My friend – she got saved and baptized and I’m in awe of our God!
Nothing thrills my heart more than to hear how someone comes to know Jesus as Savior. Even more exciting than that is to watch someone come to Christ. To sense the presence of the Holy Spirit moving, softening, and awakening one's soul is indescribable. I'll never forget when Tanya came to church for the first time. I was in Junior church teaching where her daughter would be in ... Read More »
Three days I’ll never forget
So I signed myself up for three days of "day camp" for Sophie and her friends while her big brother was at overnight camp. And truly these are three days I'll never forget because we really had so much fun. It was a lot of work but I loved every second of it. Every morning we started out with a craft in the "Art room" (dining room). These were crafts I ordered online and found ... Read More »
