When prayer makes us feel “needy”
Our church is learning about prayer. Like God really wants to teach us about this because he lined up so many different platforms for us to soak up what he has on this topic through things like: The War Room Movie, An event on prayer for our women, A sermon series on prayer, etc. All these things had been planned long ago but all fell at the same time. So cool. Part of our ... Read More »
Mugs & Muffins 2015
Mugs & Muffins - it's a ladies outreach event we put on annually where you bring your own mug and $5 at the door and we fill your cup with coffee and provide lots of muffins. If you're looking for a simple women's event this is the way to go. This year I was so blessed to work with the Mom's In Prayer group that I pray with weekly. They joined our church in planning ... Ministry Happenings
It's the beginning of school and a million things are going on. I'm finding myself busier than ever but still making time to sit on the front porch, visit with neighbors and have my quiet time. Not something I was doing BBLC - "Before the Broken Leg Chronicles". Somehow it's all working out as I let go of my agenda. God knows my heart and is helping me be still in the midst of ... Practical cups of cold water
I share this post after having been on the receiving end of encouragement for the last month. "Cups of cold water" as Jesus puts it in Matthew 10:42, "And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.” I am taking note of how God is using others to encourage our ... When opposition accompanies sharing the Gospel
Our church has adopted a local park as a place to show the love of Jesus by giving away free stuff, serving food, praying with people and sharing the Gospel. We call it "Community Cares" and we plan for months in advance and ask God to show us how to reach the people of our community with his love. Saturday we hosted an egg hunt, gave out donuts/muffins and shared the Gospel ... Read More »
Using the week of Easter as a platform to share the Gospel
Oh man, I can't believe I did a vlog. Please don't make fun of me. I didn't want to do it but I can't explain how compelled I was to share this message with you. Maybe you'll take the 5 minutes you don't have to listen to a creative way you can share with others this week the amazing Good News that is truly life changing. https://vimeo.com/123334519 ... Choosing to un-believe the lie that it’s “too late”
Today I was reminded of God's sweet grace in my life. I had blown it big time in one of my relationships. Oh alright, I'll tell you. I mentor a little girl at a school in our community. We've been "lunch buddies" since last year and I see her once a week. Well, about mid November when sickness hit our family over and over again I found myself every Thursday either at a ...
