So the last few weeks I've been preparing for a large Bible Journaling Workshop at our church. The process took over our dining room but how fun it was! There was a sweet Spirit among the group and ladies left feeling like they too could linger longer in God's word through journaling. Therefore I feel it was highly effective and I know it was FUN! Two ladies in particular ... Read More »

Bible Journaling – where we are with it.
I shared a few weeks ago that I was just starting to get into Bible Journaling - where you create in the margins of your Bible based on what you have read and the direction the Holy Spirit leads you. Sophie has now caught the vision for it as well and together we have prayed, read and created. How I love this time with her. Supplies are simple: A journaling Bible, colored ... Read More »
About peed in my pants over a Bible study misunderstanding last night
Spoiler Alert: Baptist Humor. I'm not making fun of other religions but if you're a Jehovah's Witness you might not like this post very much. Sorry in advance. Okay, so I'm in a wonderful small group bible study on Wednesday nights. There are a few women in the study that just moved or are new to our church so we're all still getting to know each other. I've been bringing ... Read More »
Bible Study in 2016 – some ideas
I'm starting out 2016 in a study called "Open Your Bible" by Rachel Myers and Amanda Bible Williams. Yep, you read that right. Maiden name Bible and I'm pretty sure she has a Bible degree. Cool, huh. I like these two young women (I sound old) who are committed to studying God's word and taking others along with them. In their 7 week Bible Study we look at the power of God's ... Read More »
I just bought an adult coloring book!
Ya'll I love fellow Christ follower, author and bible study teacher Margaret Feinberg. She is deep, playful, personal and so down to earth. Her ability to take scripture and teach in such a succint way has drawn me in from the beginning. I've learned a lot about my God through her teaching. This summer I did her Fight Back with Joy study from home in my hospital bed with a ... Read More »
Meditation doesn’t have to be weird
Yes, that is my daughter and she's such a poser. Occasionally she whips out a meditation pose complete with a mesmerizing "Ahhhmmmmmmm" for pure entertainment. I admit that it gets a laugh of out me just about every time. We can thank big brother's influence for this trick. I was shopping at ... Read More »
A powerful question that can change the way you look at scripture
I love Margaret Feinberg because she always challenges me and stretches me in great ways through her articles, books and bible studies. A question she challenged people to ask in their personal time of Bible study back in February has been transforming my own personal study. It's pretty simple but extremely probing and revealing. So here's the question: What do you most need ... Read More »
What spiritual training looks like for our family right now
We are participating in a 40 day Bible Reading Plan with our church which started on Monday. We are reading in Proverbs and one other section of the Bible 5 days a week for 40 days. The kids are working through it as well with less verses than the adults. We have a Facebook page where we post the daily reading and then comment on what God showed us in our reading. I ...
