Operation In As Much is an initiative of churches coming together for the purpose of serving our communities and showing the love of Jesus. It's based on Matthew 25:38-40 which reminds us that when we are compelled by the love of Jesus to serve the least around us, then we are actually serving Him. Take hold of that truth for a moment because this is HUGE. In red letters we ... Read More »

I’m grappling with my friend’s death and God speaks to me gently
My heart is heavy because I lost a good friend last week. Her death was completely unexpected and what I want to say is untimely because she was only 39 years old. She loved Jesus with all her heart and so did her family. She leaves behind a husband and three children. Their son Zach went on to heaven even before Katie when he was just 5 years old. Such devastating loss this ... Read More »
Yeah? Well my husband is a Pinterest Model!
I've been collecting ideas on Pinterest and looking around for frames and props for the popular Photo Booth idea for a fundraiser at our school. Randy and I were at Hobby Lobby getting some stuff and I saw this one oval frame and snatched it up while I could. I explained the whole idea to Randy and he attempted to model it for me. Do you see the resemblance? Hint: The real ... Read More »
Had “the talk” with our six year old – and yes, I want a medal
I had "the talk" with our six year old this week. This is shocking because our 12 year old just a few years ago learned that boobs are called boobs and not aguas. We've been ringing our hands on when to have "the talk" with him and are still prolonging it. So imagine the shock as I was putting six year old Sophie to bed this week and out of the blue she says to me, "Mom, it ... Read More »
Discipling my girl – sometimes I get it right and other times I don’t
I'm especially grateful for my Saturday mornings with Sophie. We are usually the first ones up so we head out to McDonald's and grab our standard coffee & biscuit and cinnamon roll & sprite. After we eat we read a few books that Sophie has brought from home. Our Saturday morning time is still evolving. I think that's good - it needs to have room to change and grow. ... Read More »
Hittin’ the Highlights
This weekend I attended an incredible Mom's in Prayer conference at The Cove, Billy Graham's Training Center. The setting is gorgeous and the entire staff (from the dining hall hostesses to the shuttle drivers) are the most warm and hospitable people I've ever encountered as a whole. It is really remarkable. Our speaker,Fern Nichols, brought powerful truths to us from ... Read More »

Camping – glad we went. I’ll never do it again.
I'm not exactly the camping type but I went this weekend for the first time in about 15 years with our family. Our first choice, a State Park, was full so we chose a small campground close by. It was a pretty little area with a creek and a lake. It would do just fine. Sophie had to go to the bathroom immediately so we start hunting for one. We spotted a classic blue ... Read More »
