The question was this: If you had 5 hours to spend and you could do anything what would you do? It was an ice-breaker for a women’s study we just started. We had just found our “partners” and now we had three questions to ask them and would later introduce that lady
I already knew mine. If I had 5 hours to do anything I’d want to sit in the front seat of a police car and go on high-speed car chases and drug stings. I just wasn’t convinced that ladies Bible Study was the best platform to share that disturbing information. Watching Forensic Files every night is no longer enough for me. Now I want to be in the middle of a FF episode in real life. Apparently, I’m the only sick one in my Bible Study group that said that. Everyone else wanted to heal the sick people in their lives and feed the hungry and explore space. Dangit, why didn’t I think of that. I asked the person that had to introduce me to change my answer but she wouldn’t. And I don’t blame her. Honesty is the best policy.
Here’s what I learned about our group – we want to explore space, spend time with our families, visit loved ones in heaven, have a Spa Treatment, help people get better, shop, do crafts and…….go on drug busts. Well, that’s lovely.
Seriously though we have started Jennifer Rothschild study of Psalm 23 and
Our study meets once a week and we hold a Spring and Fall Bible Study with small group leadership teams and accountability in between. This has developed into a nice rhythm for our group.
Have you found a good Bible Study rhythm for you personally? What about corporately? Would love to hear what works for you and what helps you drinking from the well of God’s word.
