So we did something different at church today and we’re still alive to tell about it. We did a huge indoor Easter Egg Hunt for our Sunday morning service. It was awesome! Kids and adults heard the Gospel story through lifesize resurrection egg objects. Then we let the kids loose and they snatched up about 2,000 eggs in the auditorium. So here’s a picture dump for you…..
This was highly effective in sharing the Gospel and bringing in visiting families. If you want to try this at your church here are some things that we did that helped
- Collect candy/toy filled eggs through congregation 5 weeks in advance
- Utilize teens to stuff and hide eggs
- Gather resurrection egg objects through your church family, make or order online.
- Younger kids hunted eggs in a downstairs portion of our church
- Older kids hunted in the auditorium
- Incorporate church members in the egg hunt – we gave each adult 2-3 eggs to hand out during the service
- Coffee & Donuts served at kid drop off location
- Adults gathered in the auditorium while kids were in a separate room waiting to come into the auditorium
- Kids filtered into the first rows of pews with plenty of adult supervision and teen help
- Gospel story was shared the first fifteen minutes then the egg hunt
Yeah, so that’s how it went down.
