Forgetfulness. I’m dealing with it these days. Recently I got to church and wondered where our son was. Nowhere to be seen. Called home and he was there. “Mom! You left me, how could you?!” Like what do I even say to that? For the last 15+ years, we have taken our kids to church every single Wednesday night. But for some reason this particular night I didn’t think anything odd about the fact that our son was not with us? Crazy town.
I bet you have a similar story as well. Well, at least I hope you do because it would certainly make me feel better.
God knows the frailty of our minds. How forgetful we are and yet…… he is constantly reminding us in his word to remember.
Remember the right hand of the Lord. Remember the deeds of long ago. Remember…..Remember…..Remember……..
Some things you’ll just never forget. Or at least we think we’ll never forget. The answers to prayer for healing. Those moments of divine intervention. We say we’ll never forget those times. And probably we won’t. But what about generations to come? Will they know how God answered that prayer of yours that you prayed for decades?
Writing down your prayers could help shape your family’s future generation by allowing them a glimpse into God’s power. And when they see things you were praying for but that you never saw the fruit of in your life but they do – wow, that’s going to be pretty awesome! Help yourself and your future generations to remember by writing down what you are praying for and how you see God working.
This is the overflow of written prayer.
