Notice the earbuds and the headphones in at the same time. It’s because she was so tired but wanted to watch the football game with her Daddy – who happens to be extremely LOUD during the game. Bless her pea-pickin’ heart. Love that girl and her loud Daddy. And although we wanted Auburn to win Randy said it was a fantastic game. I wouldn’t know because I wasn’t on the other side of the couch with two sets of headphones drowning out the noise. I do love my husband but I don’t watch football. I know some of the love experts would tell me to sit on that couch headphone-less and get into the game with my man for the duration of the game. He and I both know that would be pure torture for us all so I love my man from a distance when it comes to football. The closest I get to being a football fan is dusting Randy’s helmet collection for him. And he’s appreciative of that healthy distance I’m absolutely sure of it.
The two helmets on top of the TV represent the two teams playing so that’s why they’re missing from the collection. There’s also a “hot seat” which is on the right corner of the top of the bookshelf but I’m not sure what this means and who’s there right now. But I’m pretty sure it’s a bad thing. I can name almost all of the helmets and so I think that’s pretty good but then so can Sophie at this point. She helps Randy organize them and puts them in order and he goes over the names of each team with her so she can remember them. It really is a cool football collection. It started when my Mom gave Mitchell the GA football helmet for Christmas when he was a year old. Randy loved it so much that he stole it and started his own collection. Too funny! Mitchell knows the story and he and his Dad fight over that one helmet all the time.
Maybe at this year’s Valentine’s banquet I’ll get convicted and start watching football with my man. Until then I’ll stick with the dusting of helmets while hollering “go dawgs!”

This is pretty cute. Are the helmets actual size?

they’re miniature but actual replica’s of the Schutt helmets that players wear. My Mom found a Waffle House franchise owner who sold them out of his store – go figure! But now he can’t sell them or something something like that. Not sure what happened there but my husbands entire collection came from the Waffle House guy. Ha! Over a period of like ten years that is. They cost around $25.
