Ya’ll it’s the best punch recipe out there but you do this for people you’d stand in front of moving truck for. Time consuming is the word for this recipe especially if you’re making it in bulk but with that said I’m sharing it because it’s the best out there.
The ingredients for “Frozen Fruit Punch”:
- 2 pink light pink jello (or whatever color punch)
- 1 big can pineapple juice
- 1 big can grapefruit juice (don’t give up the recipe because of this – it’s still good)
- 1 can frozen lemonade
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 can crushed pineapple
- 2 quarts water
- 7-up (2 liter) – (to be added to frozen mixture later)
*Dissolve sugar in water & add juices & pineapple. This takes a large stock pan. I have to steal borrow the church one every time I make this.
Pour the mixture into (2) large/ gallon pitchers and then pour into ice cube trays like this. One batch used 12 ice cube trays.
One batch of punch which serves 20 but you can make it go further by adding more 7-up.
Or you can pour into two freezer gallon size zip lock bags like the batch you see in a pan on the middle freezer shelf. I put them in a pan until they’re frozen. My preference is to put the mix in ice trays because it thaws much faster and you won’t be ice picking it to death as guests arrive. That’s what happened last year at our Open House…..we were hacking away at frozen punch like crazed hostess maniacs. It was the batch that was not in ice cubes that took so long to thaw.
So you pull out your frozen bags of ice cube punch and pour into your punch bowl and pour a 2 liter of 7-up over it. It takes about 30 minutes to start melting into the desired consistency. You want a slushy icey texture. If using the frozen bags you need a lot more time to thaw.
This punch really is yummy and different than most frozen punch recipes you’ll see out there. I hate grapefruit so I didn’t think I’d like this punch but it really is amazingly delicious. The grapefruit isn’t overwhelming at all. It just makes you curious as to what else is in the punch. Try it. You’ll like it!
